Vitamix 6300 Review

The Vitamix 6300 is one of those products that once you buy it, you never want to be without it.

I can put my hand on my heart and say I’d never go back to a standard blender. Before I found the Vitamix 6300, I struggled with other brands that kept breaking or burning out.

It seems manufacturers might be too busy trying to make items cheaper without thinking about how those items will stand the test of time.

The Vitamix 6300 was created to replace, or at least be comparable to, the 5200 model. Given the success of the 5200, the 6300 does stand out as potentially one of the best blenders on the market.

One of the biggest bugbears of consumers with the 5200 model was its lack of preprogramed settings. The 6300 offers three.

This machine can be a good option for homeowners looking to prepare quick and easy soups, dips, smoothies and more.

However, it’s not so suited to the hospitality industry. Although its 2hp motor could handle the pressure, the 64oz jug may not.

Features & Benefits

Preprogramed settings

A major downside to the previous 5200 model was the lack of preprogramed settings.

Vitamix 5200 Blender Professional-Grade, Self-Cleaning 64 oz Container, Black - 001372

This 6300 model has three preprogramed settings which can make food preparation so much easier. They focus on the three main food products this blender is good for; soups, smoothies and frozen desserts.

Previously, it was so difficult to know the exact settings to put the blender on for the perfect thickness or heat level. These new preprogramed settings help change all that.

10-speed and pulse setting

I’ve found that a major benefit of this 6300 model is the 10-speed setting and the pulse setting. With a 2hp motor, any meal preparation has been a breeze.

The best part is, you can vary the speed to how your meal looks and feels, or you can simply pulse it. I love how easy it is to take control of dinner when in previous models this wasn’t always possible.

7 year warranty

Many blenders purchased off the shelf do not come with a very long warranty – if they even come with one at all.

This can make it difficult if the blender were to suddenly break as you don’t have any way of getting your money back. I’ve experienced this before and it can make you reluctant to purchase anything that has no comeback for manufacturing issues.

That’s why the seven-year warranty of this blender is such a good feature. It gives you peace of mind as a consumer that if something isn’t correct, it could be fixed at no cost to you.

4 prong blades

I think having a durable, strong blade is an important part of any blender. However, many only have three blades and they’re ‘okay’ at best. I’ve found that this blade works faster, harder and better than many other blenders.

It’s also made of stainless steel so it shouldn’t rust or even go blunt. When you’re cutting hard fruits and vegetables, this is a huge benefit.

The only downside is that it can be quite hard to clean and you have to take all safety precautions.

2hp motor

This blender features a 2hp motor in order to be considered suitable for everyday use.

In many blenders, poor motor power played a huge part in consumers not being happy.

If a blender is not suitable for everyday use, it can often be a waste of money. This is where the Vitamix 6300 fills the void in the market. The strong motor means you can cut, grind, cook and blend a range of ingredients without the engine faltering.

The best part is, if you do happen to have a problem with the motor within seven years, Vitamix may replace it for you.

What I love most about the power of this blender is how easily it prepares any kind of meal.

It does it with finesse – all the while getting the job done effectively. The only downside is with great power comes the risk of the machine heating up. This is not so helpful when you’re preparing frozen desserts.

If the machine is run for a long period of time on a high setting, it can heat up to the point where it turns itself off. This is the blender protecting the motor from burning out. Once it cools down you can then turn it back on again.

Functionality

In comparison to the other models Vitamix has to offer, the 6300 stands up really well for itself. I love how versatile it is and how quickly it can take care of menial chopping, crushing and grinding jobs that would require much time and effort if completed by hand.

The functionality of this 6300 I’ve found to be incredible. It can chop, crush, grind, juice and blend. It can even heat up or cool down – dependent on whether you’re heating soup or making a frozen dessert such as sorbet.

If you compare it to standard off-the-shelf blenders which can often aim to blend and not much else, it’s noticeably better.

Accessories

Although you have to purchase most accessories separately, I’ve found there are plenty to choose from. What started as an ordinary blender can now become so much more.

Because the 64oz jug that comes with this blender is so tall, it can be difficult to fit it under a standard size kitchen counter.

Vitamix looked to counteract this by allowing consumers to purchase a shorter, wider jug which still held the same volume. It can just be a far more convenient option.

You can also purchase a dry grains container to allow you to grind your own grains for bread. If you’re a home user with a knack for baking, this could be a good option for you. I’ve found that it’s also excellent for preparing dough recipes.

If you shop at stores such as Costco, you may even come across several other accessory options such as extra jugs, or even filtration bags for separating pulp when you’re juicing.

I love the versatility this blender is known for.

Vitamix 6300 vs Blendtec 725

I believe that if the Vitamix 6300 were to compete on the market with a very similar product, the Blendtec Designer 725 would be it.

Although very similar in style and design, there are still several differences between the two. Many of those features fall in favor of both models.

  • checkThe Blendtec blender is more expensive than Vitamix, however there is not a huge disparity.
  • checkHorsepowerThe Vitamix 6300 offers 2hp, whilst the 725 offers 3.8hp at its peak.
  • checkPreprogramed settingsThe 725 has six preprogramed settings for food preparation whereas the 6300 only has three.
  • checkWarrantyWhilst a seven-year warranty is exceptionally generous on the 6300 model, the 725 offers eight.

Vitamix 6300 vs Vitamix 750

Vitamix offers several different blenders, but each are designed for different markets. When comparing the 6300 to the 750, it’s clear to see there are several differences between the two.

  • checkPrice The 6300 averages around $600 in price, but the 750 is over double the price.
  • checkMotor The 750 has a commercial grade motor to take on more work on a daily basis. The 6300 has a powerful 2hp motor, but I don’t think this is on par with the 750 at all.
  • checkContainer size When you’re making family sized portions of food in the blender, size is a huge factor. The 6300 offers a small 64oz container, whilst the 750 has a 2L jug.
  • checkPreprogramed settingsI find that time is of the essence when in the kitchen, so preprogramed settings are a huge help. The 6300 offers three settings whilst the 750 offers five.

Both blenders feature very highly in terms of functionality and style, but overall performance is important too. The 750 can win out in a commercial setting. Why not check it out for yourself here?

The Vitamix 6300 has proved itself as a blender that solves a lot of kitchen crisis. Many people can often find themselves ‘chewing’ their smoothies due to poor blending, but the Vitamix 6300 looks to solve that problem.
